✨ Week One: December 1–7 ✨
Goal: Get the basics handled early so you can enjoy the season instead of chasing it.
December 1 – Clear the Decks (15 minutes)
Pick one small thing that’s been weighing on you — a cluttered counter, a pile of mail, the kitchen table — and get it tidy.A clean spot to breathe goes a long way.
December 2 – Write Your “Musts” List
Not the whole holiday.Just the things that matter most to you.Three to five items, max: a tradition, a gathering, a quiet moment.
December 3 – Gifts: Round One
Write down who you’re buying for this year.Right beside each name, jot one simple idea.(And remember: eBooks make wonderful last-minute gifts.)
December 4 – Pantry Check
Peek in your pantry and freezer.Write what you already have, then make a tiny list of what you still need for holiday baking or weeknight suppers.
December 5 – Self-Care Catch-Up
A walk, a long shower, a cup of cocoa on the porch — take twenty minutes that belong only to you. You’ll feel that breath of fresh air for days.
December 6 – Decor Lite Day
Skip the big overhaul. Pick one cozy corner to decorate — I put a red berry wreath on the door. Maybe you'll put a Christmassy-scented candle on the mantle, or put a bowl of ornaments on the table to amp up the holiday vibe.
December 7 – Quick Wins Sunday
Tie up loose ends:
Dig out the Christmas wrapping paper, and make a list of what supplies you'll need. Tape, ribbon, new scissors, gift tags?
Send one card. Yes, it's okay to schedule an eCard. Blue Mountain and Jacquie Lawson have beautiful ones. Honestly, I have subscriptions to both and use them year round. They have free trials too.
Prep one dinner for the week. Small things. Big relief.
Share your ideas in the comments!
Set yourself up for calm.
