I'm so excited to share this news! There's a new movie in our future and this one is the novel adaptation of the book of my heart, The Shell Collector. This movie will air on FOX Nation as their debut into the original movie space. I'm so honored to be their first, and hope you will all join me in watching as it begins streaming on 9/1/22. Hallmark hunk Christopher Russell stars along with Caitlin Clark and Jennifer Higgin as Maeve. Another neat Hallmark actor connection is the beautiful Nikki Deloach who co-authored the screenplay with Megan McNulty. It's so exciting to see so many networks bringing quality family-friendly movies to the masses. It delights me to no end to be a teensy part of it. AS SEEN ON Deadline.com August 16, 2022 10:14am Fox Nation will premiere The Shell Collector on Sept. 1, a debut that the Fox News Media subscription streaming service says will be its first in-house movie production. The movie is based on Nancy Naigle’s book, and stars Caitlin Clark, Christopher Russell, and Jennifer Higgin. According to Fox Nation the production is “a heartwarming story about a widow, Amanda Whittier, with two children who befriends some interesting characters in her small seaside town as she looks to forge ahead with her new life following the death of her husband.” Fox Nation, which launched in 2018, includes original programming from opinion hosts such Tucker Carlson, but it’s placed a heavy emphasis on expanding entertainment, reality and lifestyle shows, including a recent series hosted by Kelsey Grammer. The service plans three other original movies over the next year tied to the holiday season. It previously has debuted several original Christmas movies that were outside productions, including last year’s Christmas in the Wilds and Christmas in the Pines, as well as a third original, Romance in the Wilds. In 2020, Fox Nation streamed its first holiday movie, Christmas in the Rockies, that featured cameos by Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt. The Shell Collector is produced in association with Cartel Pictures. Naigle’s books have become best sellers, with more than 30 titles in print. Hey, friends. One of the things I love most about summer is all the fresh produce! I have a teensy garden this year with some tomatoes big and cherry, peppers, and a strawberry plant, but my neighbor has been so generous with his and I'm so thankful for that! Here's a summer favorite of mine. I hope you'll enjoy it. PICO de GALLO The secret to great pico is to make it up and then let all those flavors and juices marry over night. I love using this with chips, or as a sauce over chicken or fish. You can even change it up a little by adding peaches or pineapple for a fruity version. Ingredients: Tomatoes, diced Onion (sweet or red), diced Jalapeno Peppers, deseed and cut into small pieces Cilantro Lime, a good squeeze Garlic, I prefer the fresh garlic crushed and cut tiny Salt and pepper to taste Splash of coconut or olive oil This is definitely one of those "use how much you've got" kind of recipes. You'll end up with 1/2 of your bowl with tomatoes and the other half a split between onion and jalapeno peppers. When you toss it up it should look like a lovely confetti. Then add in cilantro, I usually just take a nice bunch of fresh and chop it up, but you can use the dried kind. It'll soften right up in the juices. Then stir in your garlic and a few twists of pepper and shake or two of salt. I've found just adding a little splash of oil helps get the marrying process going and gives it a little more texture when you're stirring it all together and mixing the flavors. Experiment with the right heat for your family, and if you're not a fan of hot stuff some pretty mild red, yellow or orange peppers look pretty and still taste great. ENJOY!
